Foundation President and Proud Mom of Kevin! One of my greatest pleasures in life is watching my kids have fun! Although Kevin left us too early, he certainly gave me a LOT of fantastic memories. He certainly wasn’t perfect, but he was perfect for me! I am so grateful I got to be his Mom! Love you forever, Kevin!
Foundation Executive Director and Proud Dad of Kevin! I am the blessed father of two wonderful men. One of my favorite experiences with my boys was when they would fall asleep as babies on my chest. I was lucky to coach Kevin in soccer for 4 years and to see him develop as an athlete and person. They are my proudest achievement.
I am the PROUD Aunt and Godmother to my nephew Kevin. Kevin was such an inspiration to all he touched. His infectious sense of humor! My favorite memories with Kevin are spending family Christmases together. Kevin and his cousins were so close and had the wildest dance parties that went well into the Christmas night, (He also had the best dance moves)! I miss him everyday!
I am the PROUD Uncle of Kevin. I'm glad to be on this committee, and hope we can help achieve our goals and keep Kevin's memory alive!
I have been a close friend of the Boeckenhauer family since my twin boys, Benjamin and Daniel, met Kevin in the first grade at Erickson Elementary School and they were on the same soccer team. Affectionately called "Mama Rose" by Kevin (and also the mom of the boys "with the same head"), Kevin was a wonderful young man with endless smiles, who is greatly missed by so many. I am happy to be helping the Boeckenhauers raise money to support a cure.
I am a Kevin's uncle. Glad to be on the committee. Let's raise money to find a cure together!
I am Kevin's cousin, lifelong friend, and fellow Burrito Fantastico enthusiast. As an only child, Kevin was like the brother I never had - being a constant source of support and advice, and even picking "sibling fights" with me to make sure I didn't miss out on some of childhood's best experiences. Then and now, Kevin has and always will be an inspiration to me. I am a proud member of this Foundation in his honor and look forward to making an impact with our event. Let's find a cure!
I'm a friend of the Boeckenhauer family. I'm glad to have met Kevin, he was so inspirational and passionate about the things he loved in life. I'm honored the Foundation asked for my help and hope we can find a cure to end Ewing Sarcoma Cancer.
I met Kevin my first day of college and immediately thought he was a senior. The way he held himself, the confidence and yet one of the kindest people I had ever met. It wasn't until later that I found out that he was a freshman. And although we did not hang out our freshman eyar together, we did spend a day in the woods together getting to know each other and developing our bond. Unfortuantely he had to go back to Chicago for a year, but those things really picked up our junior year. I stopped by his apartment on the way home from class and was introduced to Naruto. Then I spent nearly every day after that watching Naruto with him and Matt. Junior year was not my year and I know without Kevin I would not be here. As our friendship grew he had to make his way back to Chicago but Sam Jekel, him and I would text constantly about new anime or shows and we would make sure to head down and see Kev (the boss) every year. He is not a best friend to me, I considered him a brother. Visiting him in Chicago will forever be some of my best memories and I will love him forever. Thank you Kevin for loving me and giving me more family.
I met Kevin in the fall of 2014 at UWSP. We were both part of the swim team. I may or may not have gotten him drunk his first night there (sorry Jean & Tom). Kevin and I clicked instantly. His positive and 'go getter' attitude made practices tolerable.
Even after his time at UWSP, my now husband and I would stop by to see Kevin every time we were in the Chicago area. How can we not stop by and see 'the boss' while in Illinois? His bright eyes and sparkly smile were always something I looked forward to seeing. I can't wait to help keep his spirit alive with this wonderful foundation.
I worked with Kevin and Danny at the Seasons Four Pool. Some of my best memories of those summers were watching Kevin and my brother AJ goof off at the pool. I am excited to be part of the foundation to raise money in Kevin's honor!
A friend of the Boeckenhauer Family, proudly served from 2021-2023. (In memoriam.)
I grew up with Kevin Boeckenhauer; he was not just a friend but one of my closest companions throughout childhood. Our bond was built on shared experiences, laughter, and support through thick and thin. As I reflect on our journey together, I'm filled with gratitude for the memories we created and the values we instilled in each other. Now, as I serve on the board of this organization, I am fueled by the desire to honor Kevin's memory and our friendship by working tirelessly to eliminate the scourge of pediatric cancer. I hope that together we can channel our collective efforts towards a brighter future for the children and families affected by this devastating disease.
I am one of Kevin's cousins and proud to be a part of the Kevin Boeckenhauer Family Foundation. Growing up Kevin and us cousins shared a love for listening to music and coming up with our own dances. The memories of us cousins coming up with dances over the holidays and laughing together will forever be some of my favorite memories. Kevin taught me many valuable lessons in life including to live life to the fullest and to simply be yourself. Excited to help raise money to support Ewing's Sarcoma research to find a cure together!
Kevin was one of my best friends. His initial diagnosis lit a fire in my heart, and I had so many questions that demanded answers. Since then, I have earned my bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, and my master’s degree in chemistry from SIUE. I am now a PhD candidate at UIUC, earning my doctorate in molecular and cellular biology. I have dedicate my life to improving our understanding of human biology, and my memories of Kevin inspire me to always keep moving forward.
